To extend duct length or join segments:
- Prepare the ends: Cut each duct section cleanly and ensure insulation is evenly trimmed back to expose the inner core.
- Insert a rigid metal sleeve or coupler between the inner aluminum cores of both ducts.
- Seal the joint using UL 181-approved aluminum tape around the inner core for airtightness.
- Slide insulation and jacket back over the joint and secure with clamps or zip ties.
- Tape or wrap the outer layer (PVC jacket) with aluminum or duct wrap to ensure a tight and durable seal.
- Proper sealing prevents air leaks, condensation, and performance loss across the HVAC system.
