How to Choose

How to choose a high-temperature flexible duct

Six steps to specify the right high-temperature duct for your process.

Process temperature

Establish the working temperature of the air stream first, including any surge above the normal operating temperature.

Temperature grade

Select a duct from the range graded above that temperature, for example 150 “+DEG+”, 350 “+DEG+”, 700 “+DEG+” or 1000 “+DEG+”.

Insulated or non-insulated

Choose an insulated high-temperature duct where the hot air line must be insulated, and a non-insulated duct where it is not required.

Material and construction

Confirm whether a nylon, fibreglass insulated or aluminium construction is required for the application.

Diameter, length and connection

Confirm the inside diameter, the length required for each run and how the duct will be clamped at the ends.

FAQ & Buying Guide

High-temperature duct buying guide

What is a high-temperature flexible duct used for?
High-temperature flexible duct is used to convey hot air, exhaust air and fumes where the air stream is warmer than a standard flexible duct can handle. Our range is graded by working temperature from 80 ℃ up to 1000 ℃.
How do I choose the right temperature grade?
Start from the working temperature of your process and select a duct graded above it. Products in the current range include 80, 150, 180, 350, 355, 390, 425, 433, 480, 696, 700, 801 and 1000 ℃ grades.
What is the difference between insulated and non-insulated high-temperature duct?
Insulated high-temperature flexible duct has a thermal insulation layer around the duct, while the non-insulated products are single wall constructions. Both are available in the high-temperature air duct range.
Which materials are used for high-temperature duct?
The current high-temperature range includes nylon flexible duct, fibreglass insulated flexible duct and aluminium flexible duct constructions.
How do I get a quotation for high-temperature duct?
Send us the process temperature, the required diameter and length, the insulation requirement and the quantity through the contact page. Lead time is confirmed according to order quantity, product configuration, and the production schedule.
